My name is Lyudmila Barinová and I come from Kyiv. I came to the Czech Republic on March 8th with my twelve-year-old brother. We had to leave Ukraine quickly. My parents stayed there. Mum helps as a volunteer. Dad works at a factory, but he was called-up. We left for the unknown. We didn't know anyone in the Czech Republic, and we had no relatives here.
We got our visas, health insurance, primary school for my brother, housing and work during ten days in Prague. None of this would have been possible without the help of the Czech family. They helped us with everything. For now, we speak English, but we are already learning Czech.
